Inspired by Psalm 91
A greater refuge, there cannot be,
Than under the wings of God Almighty,
No shelter on Earth could ever compare,
To the perfect protection of His loving care,
Though the fortresses of this world be turned to dust,
Mine will forever remain, for in Him I put my trust,
Though the strongholds of man are destined to fail,
In the shadow of the Almighty, I will always prevail,
These truths I know well, they are forever stored in my heart,
For He has always been by my side, and never will He depart,
No calamity, pestilence, or enemy that has come my way,
Has ever overtaken me, for under His wings do I stay,
Even when those who do evil rise to take my life,
Even when a deadly pestilence comes to take thousands in strife,
Even when the trial and the storm are more than I can bare,
Even when the Enemy comes to drown me in despair,
Fear will find no place in me, nor will temptation be given way,
For in my darkest moments, I will call out and praise His name,
My strength and soul may fail me, but my faith and hope will remain,
For I will look to Him for protection, and His promises will I claim,
His Son defeated sin and death, His victory with me He shares,
His Spirit lives inside my heart, He guides me from evil’s snares,
His angels are my constant guards, my enemies shall not prevail,
His love for me is ever-present, and His mercy will never fail,
Because my love is held fast to Him, His promises remain true,
Protection He will provide for me, for His name I praise anew,
No matter the trouble that comes my way, even when all hope seems crushed,
He alone is my refuge and my fortress, and in Him I forever put my trust.
